چکیده
Biomass is commonly used for heat production in small-scale and domestic facilities. Particulate matter (PM) emissions from the combustion of solid biomass are a concern because hazards to human health. Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) have been supported as most promising mitigation technology, although there lack consolidation provide promulgate solution. The currently published studies on do not offer deep performance analysis an electrostatic precipitator; instead, different designs presented validated through efficiency measurements. In this work, easily attachable ESP design tested more deeply analyse its with pellet boiler, measuring retention function PM sizes generated by under influence supplied voltage geometry considering discharge electrode diameters. Increasing give higher separation efficiencies until 90% reached, further improvements remarkable. This value influenced limitations particle analyser. A thinner achieves both better stable operation at lower than thicker electrode. Regarding size, capacity particles between approximately 0.17 μm 0.7 due reduced ability charging mechanisms. formation agglomerates during re-entrainment also observed.

Thermoeconomic comparison between the performance of small-scale internal combustion engines and gas turbines integrated with a biomass gasifier
Recently, many countries have paid substantial attention to power generation from biomass gasification, particularly through small-scale plants. A number of power plant models have been suggested and analyzed; however, certainly, desirable configurations have not been identified yet. Moreover, their performances are ordinarily difficult to compare, especially owing to the fact that working ...
متن کاملDevelopment and Study of an Electrostatic Precipitator for Small Scale Wood Combustion
Wood is often combusted in small scale units for domestic heating. Although the total particle emission levels in Germany have declined steadily over the years, small scale wood combustion is an increasing source of indoor and outdoor air pollution. A novel space charge electrostatic precipitator (ESP) was developed for control of fine particle emissions control from wood combustion stoves and ...

متن کاملPerformance of a pilot-scale wet electrostatic precipitator for the control of sulfuric acid mist.
The use of a wet electrostatic precipitator (WESP) is often regarded as a viable option to reduce sulfuric acid mist emitted from the wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) tower in coal-fired power plants. In this study, a pilot-scale wet electrostatic precipitator equipped with a wall-cooled collection electrode is investigated for the control of sulfuric acid mist from a simulated WFGD system. ...
متن کاملPerformance of High Velocity Electrostatic Precipitator for Road Tunnel
The particles emitted from diesel engine exhaust have low resistivity and extremely small in the range of 70-120nm. An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) has been extensively used for the collection of these particles. A two-stage ESP using charging section and collection section has been installed for the collection of diesel particles and improving the visibility index in road tunnels. The char...
